Grown-up, not seedy: what kind of place this is

Adults.co.uk is for consenting adults who want something more direct than a dinner-and-a-film dating site, and something a good deal more civil than most adult ones. Some members want a regular, no-strings arrangement; some are curious about things they have never tried; some simply want to talk frankly with people who won't flinch.

What it is not: a place for pressure, explicit photos, money requests or anyone under 18. The house rules are short. A clear yes, with anyone free to change their mind. Discretion, both ways. A proper hello before anything else. If those sound like your rules too, you'll fit in. Our guide to adult dating in the UK sets out what it involves, how Adults.co.uk works explains the mechanics, and our guide to talking about desires and limits covers the conversation that matters most.

What it costs, and when you'd start paying

Joining, building a profile, browsing and receiving interest from other members cost nothing. You pay when you want to read and reply to messages. There are a few membership options, and the members area shows the exact price of each before you pay:

What it costs
Join, create a profile, browseFree
Read and reply to messagesPaid membership (weekly and monthly plans)
Optional extrasSuch as profile boosts and an ID-verified badge

The members area shows the exact price of each plan before you pay. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Your card statement shows the billing name displayed at checkout.

Every membership renews automatically until you cancel it in Settings > Billing, and that includes any introductory trial. Cancel before the renewal date if you don't want to carry on. The prices page explains renewals, refunds and the optional extras.

03

What we check, and what we don't

Every photo is reviewed before it appears on a profile. Anyone who signs up through a VPN, or whose account is flagged, must pass an ID and selfie check before carrying on. Other members can buy an optional ID badge, which shows they have completed the same check.

What members write about themselves (age, location, status, what they're looking for) is not checked by anyone. So a badge is a good sign rather than a guarantee, and no badge proves nothing either way. Profile checks sets out exactly what happens at each step, and how to do a few sensible checks of your own.

04

Consent, from first message to first meeting

Consent in adult dating starts long before anyone meets. It means saying plainly what you'd like and what you won't do, hearing the other person's answer, and treating "I've changed my mind" as a complete sentence, whether it comes in a message, over a drink or at a much later stage.

Agreeing to meet is not agreeing to anything else. Neither is a flirtatious chat, a paid membership or a hotel room booked in advance. Our consent guide explains what clear agreement looks like in practice. If someone pressures you, threatens you or shares your images without permission, report them through the members help centre, and see our safety page for the police and helplines that deal with each kind of problem.

05

Why we might ask you to prove your age

The Online Safety Act 2023 requires online services that allow pornographic content, including content posted by users, to use highly effective age checks. Ofcom, which enforces the Act, has required those checks since 2025, and its May 2026 guidance for dating services says other dating services must assess whether children are likely to use them.

Adults.co.uk is for over-18s only. At present, an ID and selfie check is required if you sign up through a VPN or your account is flagged; for everyone else it is optional. If you're asked, the check is carried out in the members area by an identity-verification provider. Profile checks explains what's involved.

06

What your statement shows, and who sees your profile

Payments appear on your card statement under the billing name shown at checkout, so note it before you pay. That is worth knowing both for discretion and so you recognise the charge.

Your profile is not only visible here. Adults.co.uk shares one member database with partner sites in the same network, so members who joined through those sites can see your profile and message you. Choose your photos and your words with that in mind. Our page on privacy and discretion covers billing, photos and what happens to your data.

Where you live changes the details

The law, the NHS and the police are organised differently in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Where you get a free sexual health check, who you call about a scam and which helpline answers at 2am all depend on where you live.

A regional page goes up only once it has genuinely local information, drawn from the services' own websites, so this list will grow:

  • Adult dating in Northern IrelandNorthern Ireland's consent law, HSC sexual health clinics, reporting scams and crime, and the 24-hour helplines.
  • Adult dating in ScotlandScots law on consent, NHS sexual health by health board, reporting scams and abuse to Police Scotland, and Scottish helplines.
  • Adult dating in WalesConsent law in Wales, NHS Wales sexual health and home testing, reporting scams, and Welsh support lines.

Who's behind the adults.co.uk address

Adults.co.uk is run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company based at 131 Continental Drive, Newark, Delaware. The adults.co.uk address has a long history on the web; this site was rebuilt in October 2026 with every guide written fresh.

The guides are plain on purpose. Every external fact links to its primary source, such as a government department, regulator, NHS service or official helpline, and each page shows the date it was last updated. Pages that need a specialist's review stay unpublished until they've had one. Read about us, our editorial policy, or the key facts on one page.
