This page has two parts: the terms of use for this website, and the privacy notice for this website. Both cover the information site at www.adults.co.uk only: the guides and pages you're reading now.
Your dating membership (your account, profile, messages and payments) is provided through the members area at members.adults.co.uk and is governed by separate documents: the members-area terms and the members-area privacy policy. If anything on this website appears to conflict with those documents on a membership matter, the members-area documents apply.
Part 1: Terms of use
Who we are
This website is run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA ("we", "us"). You can contact us through the members help centre.
Adults only
This website is about adult dating and is intended only for people aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, please leave now. Membership of the site is also limited to adults aged 18 or over.
Information, not advice
Our guides give general information about adult dating, consent, sexual health, privacy and the law in the UK. They are not legal, medical or financial advice and don't take your circumstances into account. For a decision that matters, speak to a qualified professional: a solicitor, an NHS sexual health service or your doctor, or the police. If you are in danger, call 999.
We work to keep the guides accurate and show the date each page was last updated, but laws, services and phone numbers change. We can't promise that every page is complete or current at the moment you read it. Our editorial policy explains how we source and correct pages.
Facts about the membership
Where this website describes the membership, such as what is free, what is paid, how renewal works, what's checked and how profiles are shared, we describe it as accurately as we can. The members area shows the current price of each option before you pay, and the members-area terms are the binding description of the service.
Links to other websites
We link to government departments, regulators, NHS services, charities, helplines and similar organisations so you can check facts at the source. We don't control those websites and aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Using this website
You may read, print and share links to our pages for your own, non-commercial use. Please don't:
- copy or republish our guides, wholesale or in part, without permission;
- use automated tools to scrape the site in a way that disrupts it;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting;
- use the site for anything unlawful.
The text, design and logos on this website belong to us or our licensors.
Our liability
This website is provided free and for information only. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your reliance on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, matching the members-area terms. If you are a consumer living in the UK, you also keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the law of the part of the UK where you live.
Part 2: Privacy notice for this website
Who is responsible
Ambervine Inc is the data controller for this website. Questions about privacy can be sent through the members help centre.
What this website collects
Very little.
- No cookies. This website does not set cookies.
- No tracking or advertising. It runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and does not build a profile of you.
- Server logs. This is a static website hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel's servers record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the service secure and working properly. Vercel describes its own processing in its privacy policy.
We use these logs only for security and to keep the site running. Under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
If you use a join box
Some pages have a box where you can type your email address to start joining. When you press the button, what you've typed is sent to the members area at members.adults.co.uk/join, and from then on it is handled under the members-area privacy policy, not this notice. This website doesn't keep a copy.
Where data is processed
Ambervine Inc is based in the United States, and Vercel operates a global network. Server logs may therefore be processed in the US and other countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to complain to a regulator.
- United Kingdom: under UK GDPR you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. The ICO generally asks you to raise the matter with the organisation first.
- European Union and EEA: under the GDPR you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
- United States: several states give residents rights over their personal data, including rights to know, correct and delete. Contact us through the help centre to use them.
Because this website keeps only technical server logs and holds no accounts, most requests about your profile, messages or payments are best sent through the members help centre, where your account data is held.
Children
This website and the members area are for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this notice
If we change how this website handles data, for example by adding analytics or cookies, we will update this notice and its date before the change takes effect.
For discretion on the dating side, including your card statement, who can see your profile and choosing photos, see privacy and discretion. For everything else, the contact page explains how to reach us.
