The members area shows the exact price of each plan before you pay. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Your card statement shows the billing name displayed at checkout.

What a membership adds

A paid membership lets you read and reply to messages. It also adds read receipts, shows you who has viewed your profile and lets you see members' photos in full. Free members see adverts in the members area.

The members area shows the price and length of each plan before you pay. We don't print prices on this website, so the figure you see at checkout is the one that applies. How it works explains each step from sign-up to first conversation.

Renewal: the part to read twice

Every membership, including any introductory trial, renews automatically at the end of its period until you cancel. Cancelling is done in the members area under Settings > Billing, and it's worth taking a screenshot of the confirmation.

A simple routine avoids surprises:

  1. Before paying, note the plan length, the renewal price and the billing name shown at checkout.
  2. Put a reminder in your diary for the day before the renewal date.
  3. On that day, decide: keep it, or cancel in Settings > Billing.
  4. Keep the cancellation confirmation until the renewal date has passed.

Refunds

The members-area terms allow a pro-rata refund only where at least 40% of the membership period is still unused. "Pro-rata" means you'd get back the share of the price that matches the unused part of the period. For anything to do with a payment, contact the members help centre with the date and amount of the charge.

Optional extras

Inside the members area you may be offered paid extras, such as profile boosts, priority messages and the ID badge, which shows you've completed an ID and selfie check. None of them is needed to use the site, and each is priced in the members area before you buy.

Ask yourself what problem an extra solves before buying it. A boost is meant to make your profile more visible for a while; it can't make anyone reply. The badge shows you've proved who you are, which some members appreciate. Our profile checks page explains what the badge does and doesn't prove.

What your statement shows

Card payments appear under the billing name shown at checkout, so note it before you pay. If you share a bank account or someone else sees your statements, bear that in mind; our page on privacy and discretion covers the rest.

Check the currency shown before you pay. If a price isn't in pounds, your card provider may add a non-sterling transaction fee, and the amount on your statement can differ slightly from the checkout figure because of the exchange rate.

Free, and still worth doing

Even if you never pay, a complete profile is useful: it lets other members find you and show interest. The key facts page puts the company details and billing information in one place, and if you're weighing the site up, is Adults.co.uk legit? answers the obvious questions plainly.

Questions people ask

Does the trial renew?

Yes. Like every membership, a trial renews automatically at the end of its period unless you cancel it in Settings > Billing before then. If you only want a short look, set a reminder for the day before it ends.

Can I get a refund?

The members-area terms allow a pro-rata refund only where at least 40% of the membership period is still unused. Ask through the members help centre, giving the date and amount of the charge and the email address on your account.

Why don't I recognise the charge on my statement?

Payments show under the billing name displayed at checkout, which may not mention Adults.co.uk. Note that name before you pay so you recognise it later, and contact the members help centre if a charge still doesn't make sense.

What happens when I cancel?

Cancelling in Settings > Billing stops the next renewal, so you aren't charged again when the current period ends. Your profile stays in place until you delete your account, which is a separate step under your avatar menu, Settings, Delete Account.
